Christmas Gift Box

Hi there!

As promised I said I would show you the gift box I've been working on.  I've taken pictures, but they're not the best quality - sorry!

Here's a couple of boxes I have with dividers and a few cards so far;

And here are a few of the cards that will be going into these boxes;

I hope my recipients like them.

Have a very Merry Christmas!

Last Minute Handmade Gifts

Hi there!

For Christmas this year I'm working on making some gifts for some of my close familly and relatives.  I decided to make a bunch of different cards for them to use over the year.  This way they never need to worry about running out to buy a card at the last minute.  I did this a few years ago and it was a real hit with my best friend Sylvia.  She said that having the cards on hand to give to people at the office when they've been ill or have a birthday helped make her seem thoughtful.  Haha!  Silly Sylvia.  She's already thoughtful. :)

I grabbed some small cardboard gift boxes from the dollar store last week that are large enough to fit the typical handmade cards of 5-1/2" x 4-1/4".  At the moment I'm working fiercely on cards they'll like that I can fill those boxes up with.  I think the key is to keep them simple.  Here are some cards I've made so far;

Some cards they'll use may be;

Get Well
Birthday
Thank You
Sympathy
Anniversary

I thought about Valentine's cards but I don't think they'd use them.  You could include them in your box if you're doing the same thing.  I've also made some tabs/dividers for the box so it's kept somewhat organized.  I made and named four tabs;

Birthday
Get Well/Sympathy
Thanks
Other

I'll post a picture of the finished product soon.  I hope that covers it, and yes, I do see the irony of having 'Get Well' and 'Sympathy' cards stored together. ;)

Have a great holiday!

Monkey-ing A-Round

Hi!

My niece's birthday was last week and I realized it ON her birthday! :O

So...I had to make a belated birthday card and send it in the mail. I tucked some moolah into it so I hope she didn't mind it being late. ;)

Here's the rubber stamp I choose for her card. It's from The Greeting Farm.

I started by using my copic markers, E31, E33, and E35, to colour in their fur. Aren't they adorable?!

Well, after I did this, I realized it might be fun to stick with a monochromatic theme. Sort of like a sepia photograph I guess.

And here's the finished card!

Hope she likes it!

My 100th post!

Hi there!

We're experiencing some mild winter weather here in the Toronto area - which I'm loving! I heard the groundhog saw his shadow this morning too. Yay! Spring is on its way. ;)

Our neighbour just had a baby girl they named Scarlett. To congratulate them I made them a card and left them a gift. Here's the card;

I used a layout from this year's Stampin' Up catalogue for this one. Sometimes when you have a creative block, it's a good idea to try different layouts from books, catalogues and magazines. I loved how this turned out! I used SU paper, the SU scalloped paper punch, an SU stamp set, and a ribbon I found at a scrapbook store about a year ago.

What do you think?
